The Moby Slipover Baby is knitted from the top down. First, the back piece is knitted, and then stitches are picked up along the cast-on edge of the back to form the shoulders, which are then joined at the front to form the front piece. The back and front pieces are joined under the armholdes to form the body, which is knitted in the round on circular needles. Ribbing is added along the neck opening and armholes at the end.
