Cloth knitting became an even bigger phenomenon on social media after Signe Kankelborg launched the idea #20cloths2019 in early January 2019 on the Instagram profile, @plummum.
In short, #20cloths2019 is about knitting 20 cloths in 2019, partly to be kinder to the environment and partly to create beautiful, practical cloths for the kitchen. The number of cloths tagged with #20cloths2019 is growing daily, creating a growing community around the intitaitve, where each participant can find inspiration and motivation.
The two authors also engage cloth knitters with a flair for design by holding a design competition. To participate, knitters must send their favorite self-designed cloth to the authors. The best submissions will be featured in the book, with the designer's name and a quote.
