In Knitting with Beautiful Details, Pernille Cordes shares her many years of experience as a knitting designer. You will get an overview of exciting, innovative techniques to make your knitting smarter and create a beautiful finish.
The book includes QR codes linking to more than 50 videos demonstrating the techniques used. One example is the Contiguous method, a popular way to knit beautiful shoulder seams and sleeve caps for top-down sweaters. The method is a variation of raglan.
All of the book's patterns are knitted in one piece—either top-down or bottom-up—so you can avoid seaming. Each pattern includes suggestions for variations, such as changing the stitch pattern, adding a decorative raglan seam, simplifying the design, or creating your own design.
The first part of the book presents 20 knitting patterns: sweaters, cardigans, vests, skirts, socks, hats, and a poncho shawl. The models range from simple stockinette designs to more advanced pieces knitted in Fisherman’s Rib or beautiful Japanese patterns.
The second part of the book features thematic descriptions of selected knitting techniques, and the final section includes photo guides to knitting techniques that are either less well-known or considered particularly challenging.
