Sys Fredens is behind Crochet – made simple – a crochet book with ten patterns for women's clothing for all ages.
The simple cuts and Nordic expression of the garments are the recurring theme of the book. Furthermore, the patterns are easy to crochet. The book is therefore aimed at everyone who enjoys crocheting:
– Beginner crocheters who have already made small items for the home, such as dishcloths and tray mats.
– Experienced crocheters looking for new challenges in larger, patterned crochet projects.
– Advanced knitters who want to take up crochet as a cozy handcraft.
The patterns are marked by difficulty level.
Among the patterns are crocheted blouses, sweaters, jackets, summer tops, vests, and dresses (in sizes from S to XL). If you wish to scale the sizes up or down, the book provides a guide on how to do so.
The yarns used are a wide variety made from natural materials like wool, cotton, mohair, and alpaca. Some models are crocheted with a thin hook, while others use a thicker one. With the simple design of the models, the yarn, colors, and techniques come together beautifully.
SYS FREDENS will be well-known to many crocheters and knitters, both as the owner of yarn shops, first in Copenhagen and later in Aarhus, as well as for her many accessible books on crocheted and knitted clothing and home accessories, and for her role as a dedicated teacher and speaker on the subject.
